Minimalist Packing for a 2-Week Trip to Korea #travelcapsulewardrobe #roomforshopping

I am traveling to Korea for about two weeks to visit Seoul and Busan, country of my birth. Since it's September, I anticipate the weather to fluctuate between warm and cool temperatures. With respect to Korea's appreciation for traditional attire, I plan to dress modestly, covering my neck, arms, and legs. My itinerary includes meetings with government agencies to seek help in locating my birth parents, so I aim to dress in a manner that is respectful, comfortable, and stylish, avoiding shorts and skirts. To facilitate easy travel and accommodate SHOPPING—given Korea's amazing reputation for it—I have limited my wardrobe to 15 pieces of clothing, workout attire, and a swimsuit. I will have access to laundry facilities, which is a plus. I will also pack a single pair of shoes, a red cross-body bag, underwear, socks, and two pairs of earrings, one red and one blue.
My travel capsule wardrobe includes the following:
With these 15 key items, I've calculated that I'll have over 30 different wardrobe combinations for day and night. Traveling from Salt Lake City, UT to Seattle, WA, I'll have a 2-hour layover before arriving in Korea at approximately 5:00 PM local time, which is 15 hours ahead of Salt Lake City. For the journey, I'll wear my running shoes, joggers, and a short-sleeved camp shirt with a bright print, and I'll bring along the red rain jacket, which can double as a blanket or pillow on the plane.
My day options will include:
- Navy joggers
- Black-fitted athletic pants
- Mauve short sleeve top and wide-leg trousers
- Black long dress
- Long sleeve print dress in white, black, and red
I will mix and match these with shirts, a black blazer and a black sweater
My night options will include:
- Long sleeve print dress in white, black, and red
- Black-fitted athletic pants
- Mauve short sleeve top and wide-leg trousers
- Black long dress
- Black gold short sleeved romper
I plan to mix and match these items with shirts, a black blazer, a Burberry scarf, and a black sweater.
I'm excited to experiment with a travel capsule wardrobe and will share my overall experience when I return.
